Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Mechanical Engineer opportunity in Niskayuna, New York.

 

Clearance: Active or recently active DOE L or Q or DOD Secret or Top Secret security clearance is required.

 

Job Description:

Seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work within a project team environment to support construction projects at a Naval Nuclear Lab site.

 

Duties include:

·       Developing and defining project scope with sponsors.

·       Working with a project team to develop specifications, cost estimates, drawing reviews, and provide engineering support during construction phase for buildings and utility projects.

·       Overseeing architectural engineering firms in developing concept designs, construction documents, and cost estimates.

·       Coordinating and interacting with facility staff and contractors.

 

Required Qualifications

·       An active or recently active DOE or DOD security clearance is required to be considered for this position

·       B.S. Mechanical Engineering

·       Experience performing mechanical engineering tasks including the development of contract documents, calculations and cost estimates

·       Working knowledge of building codes and standards. Experience in construction administration (submittal review, RFI's, construction inspections, etc.)

 

Preferred Qualifications

·       EIT certificate and or P.E. License

·       Engineering consulting experience

·       Working knowledge of ASME codes

·       Working knowledge of HVAC systems
