Weekend RN Caregiver

Location: Southport, CT

Schedule: Fridays through Sundays, day shifts: 9 AM – 9 PM, 36 hours weekly

Compensation: $75 per hour

Position Overview:

A gracious senior couple in Southport, CT, is seeking an experienced, full-time RN to join their household team as a live-out caregiver. The role entails 36 hours per week. The ideal candidate is intelligent, poised, and thrives in a more traditional, formal environment. This is a hands-on position requiring adaptability, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate closely with other domestic staff. The successful candidate will bring a high degree of professionalism and a calm, supportive presence, helping the principals maintain both their health and their independent lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily living activities while preserving the principals’ autonomy and dignity
• Offer companionship and ensure overall well-being and safety, especially during overnight hours
• Support mobility needs for each principal during night and daytime shifts
• Manage and administer medications as prescribed
• Monitor vital signs and report concerns as needed
• Prepare light meals or snacks as requested
• Collaborate seamlessly with the household team to provide coordinated care

Qualifications:

• RN with a minimum of 5 years' experience in private duty nursing and/or a clinical setting (must have private duty nursing experience)
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• COVID-19 vaccinated
• Non-smoker
• Comfortable around dogs—the couple has a beloved small dog
• Willingness to travel
• Flexibility with scheduling when needed
