Location: Based near Shreveport, Louisiana – Travel required to multiple facilities in the region

Reports To: Vice President of Operations / Chief Operating Officer

Position Overview

The Regional Director of Operations (RDO) provides leadership, oversight, and strategic direction to multiple skilled nursing facilities in the Shreveport area. This role ensures that all facilities operate in compliance with state and federal regulations, deliver high-quality resident care, and meet organizational performance and financial goals.

The ideal candidate is a results-driven healthcare leader with a deep understanding of skilled nursing operations, regulatory compliance, team development, and census growth strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Oversight
  • Provide direct supervision and support to facility Administrators, Directors of Nursing, and key leadership staff.
  • Foster a positive culture of accountability, teamwork, and resident-centered care.
  • Operational Management
  • Ensure each facility meets or exceeds quality, regulatory, and financial performance goals.
  • Monitor operational metrics including census, staffing, budget adherence, and survey outcomes.
  • Implement best practices to improve efficiency and quality of care.
  • Regulatory Compliance
  • Maintain full compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Guide facilities through state surveys, audits, and any necessary corrective action plans.
  • Financial Performance
  • Oversee facility budgets and drive revenue growth through census development and payer mix optimization.
  • Identify and resolve financial or operational barriers to success.
  • Staff Development & Retention
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain high-performing Administrators and Directors of Nursing.
  • Provide training and leadership development opportunities for facility leaders.
  • Community & Referral Relations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources, hospitals, physicians, and community partners.
  • Support local marketing and outreach initiatives to attract residents.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of success in multi-site operations within the skilled nursing / long-term care sector.
  • Current Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) license in Louisiana or ability to obtain.
  • Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, Louisiana state survey processes, and reimbursement systems (Medicare, Medicaid, managed care).
  • Demonstrated ability to drive census growth, improve survey outcomes, and manage budgets.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel regularly between assigned facilities.
