Construction Project Manager
Responsibilities:
- Lead the full construction lifecycle for ground-up builds and large-scale renovations across multiple states
- Manage relationships with general contractors, architects, and vendors to ensure quality and accountability
- Serve as the central point of coordination between real estate, legal, facilities, and operations teams
- Partner with internal stakeholders to align projects with broader portfolio and growth strategy
- Review and support negotiation of construction contracts, ensuring favorable terms and risk mitigation
- Develop and track project schedules and milestones from permitting through final delivery
- Monitor budgets and proactively address risks to keep projects on track
- Provide clear, executive-level reporting on project status and performance
- Ensure all builds meet specialized operational requirements, including healthcare-specific infrastructure (e.g., medical gas systems, specialized HVAC, regulatory considerations)
Qualifications:
- 7–10+ years of commercial construction management experience, specifically with healthcare facilities.
- Proven track record managing ground-up construction projects across multiple locations or regions
- Experience in healthcare or similarly regulated environments strongly preferred
- Ability to operate as a hands-on individual contributor without internal project support staff
- Strong understanding of construction documents, scheduling, and project execution
- Working knowledge of contracts and legal documentation related to construction
- Proficiency with project management tools and reporting systems
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of an organization
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
- Willingness to travel approximately 50%
- Ability to work on active construction sites in varying conditions
