Onsite:

Duties Involved: 

• The person will perform microbiology daily/weekly/monthly equipment QC, media preparation, surfzone and offshore monitoring supply preparation, membrane filtration, multiple tube fermentation, nutrient sample preservation, and chromogenic substrate tests for wastewater, ocean water, and potable water.
• In addition, the person may also assist in microbiology lab housekeeping, monthly bacterial species verification, and special projects.

Computer software requirements:

• Microsoft Word, Excel, LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System - preferred but not necessary).

Special Skills Required: 

• Experience in performing microbiology laboratory analyses including comprehensive microbiology QC work, equipment maintenance, and microbiology lab housekeeping.
• Experience in an environmental microbiology lab is desired but not required.

The hiring range for this position is $28 to $33 per hour. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity, and may also vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience amongst other factors.
