Position Overview:

Seeking an experienced Mission Systems Instructor to support the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School at Edwards AFB. This role focuses on the development and delivery of the Mission Systems portion of a yearlong, in-residence curriculum offered twice annually. The course prepares future flight and space test professionals in systems such as radar, electro-optics, electronic warfare, communications, weapons integration, and cyber operations. On-site instruction, curriculum development, and coordination with USAF stakeholders are key components of this role.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver classroom, lab, and open-air instruction on mission systems topics (e.g., radar, sensors, EW, communications, weapons, cyber).
  • Support curriculum design and updates to ensure technical relevance and alignment with current T&E practices.
  • Provide guidance to the Mission Systems Technical Expert and serve as delegate when needed.
  • Coordinate with USAF staff to manage course logistics and administrative needs.
  • Develop and evaluate student assessments, offering feedback to support learning objectives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in engineering or a related field; 8+ years in test and evaluation (Bachelor’s with added experience may be considered).
  • In-depth knowledge of DoD T&E practices in major acquisition programs.
  • Experience planning, conducting, and reporting on system-level tests.
  • Instructional experience in technical or operational topics.
  • Expertise in mission systems and familiarity with flight and/or space test environments.
  • Strong communication skills and experience briefing across organizational levels.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a recognized Test Pilot School (USAF, USN, Empire, EPNER).
  • Experience supporting space systems or conducting space-related testing.
  • Background in academic or professional instruction for adult learners.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Teams.
