BigFoot Staffing is excited to present this direct hire opportunity on behalf of an industry leader in engineered equipment solutions. We’re looking for a technically-minded and sales-driven Territory Sales Engineer.
Job Summary:

As a Territory Sales Engineer, you’ll bridge the gap between cutting-edge industrial machinery and the customers who depend on it. This role is ideal for someone with a mechanical or electrical background who enjoys engaging with diverse teams—from engineers and plant managers to buyers and technicians.
You’ll primarily focus on the Salem area, with a weekly in-person check-in at our Tigard, OR location. If you’re ready to own your territory, help customers find solutions, and grow with a respected name in the industry, we want to meet you.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Engagement & Sales:
- Manage and grow existing accounts through exceptional service and follow-up.
- Conduct 4–6 site visits or sales calls daily, supporting both existing relationships and new opportunities.
- Make 3 cold calls weekly to develop your pipeline and engage prospective customers.
Technical Consultation:
- Visit local engineering firms and industrial facilities to assist in selecting the right systems and machinery.
- Collaborate with application engineers to ensure technical accuracy and client satisfaction.
- Translate complex technical solutions into value-based recommendations for customers of all skill levels.
Sales Process Management:
- Follow through on the full sales cycle—from initial inquiry through order fulfillment and post-sale service.
- Coordinate closely with the service and parts departments to ensure smooth customer experience and ongoing equipment support.
Skills & Qualifications:
Communication & Sales Ability:
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and explain technical topics clearly.
- Proven track record in sales (minimum 3–5 years), preferably in industrial equipment or engineered systems.
- Self-starter with resilience, drive, and the ability to thrive in a field-based role.
Technical Background:
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical knowledge—able to understand how complex machinery works.
- Familiarity with system components, controls, and applications in industrial environments.
Education & Experience:
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Alternative: Two years of college with strong technical sales background.
- Experience: Knowledge of industrial compressors, vacuum systems, or motor control systems is a strong plus.
