Position Overview:

A Flight Sciences Instructor is sought to support the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School by delivering advanced instruction and practical training in support of the Space Test curriculum. This role combines subject matter expertise with hands-on guidance in flight sciences, directly contributing to the development of future test professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction in flight sciences disciplines including aerodynamics, propulsion, stability & control, and performance testing.
• Support the development and refinement of curriculum content in collaboration with course developers.
• Design, administer, and evaluate student assessments; provide actionable feedback.
• Facilitate hands-on training in laboratory, control room, and flight environments.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in flight test and evaluation.
• Demonstrated expertise in the development and application of flight test techniques and procedures.
• In-depth understanding of DoD Test and Evaluation processes, particularly in major acquisition programs.
• Proven background in Flight Sciences.
• Willingness to work full-time on-site at Edwards AFB.
• U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PhD in Aeronautical Engineering or a related field.
• Active Top Secret security clearance.
• Graduate of a recognized Test Pilot School (USAF, USN, Empire, or EPNER).
• Experience teaching adult learners in an academic or training environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.
