The Fully Remote, Contract-to-Hire Inpatient Clinical Coder will act as the Subject Matter Expert on Medical Claims Coding for Inpatient Services as well as providing support to non-clinical and clinical staff on coding & medical claims review processes. Serving as the Lead for Coding projects, you will train & mentor Clinical Coders, and will conduct medical claims review for coding & pricing determinations and/or coding review for inpatient (facility) claims to include diagnosis & procedural coding with DRG assignment/validation. Additionally, you will provide coding-related information to medical directors, providers, peer reviewers, Claims Administration, Program & Quality Management, and function as the designated recipient for factual network provider claim review requests including developing determination letters.

Full-time W2 | Contract-to-Hire | Duration: 6 months or longer

Hours: M-F | AZ Time Zone | 7:00 AM-3:30 PM OR 7:00 AM-4:00 PM OR 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Location: Fully remote from select states ONLY: (AK, AZ, AR, CO, HI, IA, ID, IL, IA, KS, LA, MN, MO, MT, NE, NV, NM, ND, OK, OR, SD, TX, UT, WA, WI & WY)

Pay Rate: $42.31 Per Hour 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED

• High School Diploma
• Current certification as Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must be able to receive a favorable Interim & adjudicated final DoD background investigation
• 5+ years’ Inpatient Clinical Coding experience for facility accounts
• 3+ years’ Inpatient Claims Processing experience  
• Experience working in Medical Office/Hospital/Facility/Managed Care/Health Insurance
• Proven Experience working in a fast-paced high-intensity environment
• Exceptional Communication & Customer Service Skills and a Team-Player who brings an "Always ready to help" attitude
• Strong Organizational & Analytical/Problem-Solving Skills
• Good Technical skills & Experience with Medical Management Systems with the ability to work in multiple software programs at one time & Proficiency with MS Office Suite

PREFERRED

• Experience with TRICARE/Military healthcare delivery system
