We are seeking a motivated Automation Engineer to join a rapid response build team. In this role, you will support the Senior Automation Engineer to build, test, and deploy automated workflows that remove manual drudgery for an operations teams. You will be the primary builder for tactical automations, taking approved process designs and turning them into reliable, running bots using Power Automate and lightweight AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Bot Development: Develop, configure, and test automation flows using Microsoft Power Automate based on technical specifications provided by the Senior Lead.
- AI Tool Utilization: Implement simple AI solutions using tools like Gemini to handle text processing tasks. Replace traditional regex or string manipulation with AI prompts to clean data from Enrollment forms or Provider communications.
- Process Identification: Act as a scout for automation opportunities. Listen to business users in Enrollment, Clinical, and Provider teams describe their daily pain points and flag tasks that are highly repetitive, rule-based, and high-volume.
- Maintenance and Support: Monitor the daily health of active bots. Troubleshoot failed runs, fix broken selectors when applications (CareRadius or Anchor Point) change, and ensure high uptime for production automations.
- Testing and QA: Conduct rigorous Unit Testing and User Acceptance Testing to ensure bots handle edge cases like missing data or system timeouts without crashing.
- Documentation: Create clear Runbooks and Process Definition Documents so that any developed solution can be easily supported by the wider IT team.
Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field OR 4 additional years of experience.
Experience:
- 5+ years in Software Development or Data Engineering, with a strong emphasis on ETL and automated workflows.
- 3+ years expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Power Platform including Power Automate Cloud and Desktop. Strong proficiency in API Integration via REST or SOAP and SQL.
- 3+ years of extensive experience working with SQL databases, NoSQL environments, and complex API integrations within a healthcare context.
- Familiarity with using LLMs like Gemini or Claude for productivity. Ability to write effective prompts to extract or format data within an automation flow.
- Familiarity with healthcare data privacy and working with sensitive data.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Power Automate, specifically Cloud Flows. Familiarity with Desktop flows is a plus. Basic scripting knowledge in JavaScript, Python, or PowerShell is highly desirable. Experience working with SharePoint lists and libraries.
