A global law firm is seeking a proactive, tech-savvy eBilling Systems & Implementation Supervisor to join its Finance Operations team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of leadership, legal billing systems, and technical implementation. The right candidate will have deep hands-on experience with legal eBilling platforms, a passion for process improvement, and the confidence to lead a distributed team of billing professionals.
This position plays a pivotal role in managing eBilling systems, onboarding new clients to eBilling platforms, and overseeing the implementation of vendor transitions. The Supervisor will report to the Global eBilling Manager and collaborate closely with stakeholders across Finance, Billing, and Legal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of new client eBilling setups and coordinate transitions between eBilling vendors.
- Serve as the firmwide administrator and technical point of contact for the firm’s eBilling clearinghouse system (e.g., BillBlast).
- Oversee day-to-day support and performance of the eBilling team (6 direct reports), including staff located in multiple offices.
- Develop and enforce eBilling best practices, documentation, and process enhancements.
- Collaborate with leadership on strategic initiatives to improve workflow, reduce backlog, and enhance client billing experiences.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure platform compliance and access for firmwide users.
- Oversee submission of client rates, invoice uploads, accruals, and system troubleshooting.
- Provide mentorship and training to team members to ensure professional growth and operational excellence.
- Monitor department mailbox and ensure timely responses and task completion.
- Participate in performance management, recruiting, and development efforts for the eBilling team.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience in legal finance or billing systems
- Minimum 3 years of legal eBilling experience required
- Prior experience supervising a team or managing workflows in a law firm setting is strongly preferred
Technical Skills
- Proficient with multiple legal eBilling platforms (e.g., eBillingHub, Serengeti, CounselLink, Collaborati, T360, Bridgeway, etc.)
- Deep understanding of LEDES and XML billing formats
- Familiarity with financial systems such as Elite, Aderant, and InTapp is a plus
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Basic SQL knowledge is a bonus
