Program Manager – Drone Warfare Systems

Location: Remote

Company Overview:

Our client is a venture-backed defense technology company revolutionizing the battlefield through rapid deployment of emerging tech, doctrinal innovation, and real-world operator feedback. With roots in modern conflict zones and eyes on the future fight, they are pioneering “modern warfare as a service”—integrating autonomous systems, tactical software, intelligence insights, and real-time training to prepare frontline forces for the next fight.

As the company nears the close of a top-tier Series A round and prepares to come out of stealth, they’re expanding their leadership team to capitalize on major growth opportunities in the federal space.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an elite Program Manager to lead a high-stakes initiative focused on counter-drone operations and drone warfare capabilities. You will be the technical and operational lead responsible for ensuring our systems stay ahead of adversarial threats.

This role is a rare opportunity for a deeply technical U.S. military veteran to shape the future of drone combat systems and deliver field-ready technology that gives our forces a decisive edge.

This person will report directly to the VP of Advanced Defense Systems and will have direct reports of technical specialists and system engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical lead and hands-on manager for all aspects of the drone warfare program lifecycle
  • Analyze enemy drone capabilities, behaviors, and system architectures to inform offensive and defensive solutions
  • Identify gaps in U.S. and allied systems and lead development efforts to outmatch adversary technology
  • Integrate advanced sensors, electronic warfare tools, and AI/ML systems into drone platforms
  • Work across engineering, product, and operations teams to align technical priorities with mission outcomes
  • Drive program execution with urgency and precision – from prototyping to deployment
  • Represent the program with DoD stakeholders, intelligence agencies, and allied partners

Requirements:

  • Military veteran with deep operational experience in drone warfare, electronic warfare, or SIGINT
  • Background in technical program management, engineering leadership, or tactical operations with UAV systems
  • Proven ability to translate field requirements into technical solutions
  • Mission-first mindset with strong analytical skills and system-level thinking
  • Comfortable working with both high-level strategic stakeholders and hands-on technical teams
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, military science, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred

Ideal Background:

  • Experience operating or countering enemy UAVs in live mission settings
  • Prior role in special operations, ISR, or tactical drone programs
  • Familiarity with current U.S. and adversary drone system architectures
  • Security clearance (active or eligible)

Why This Role?

  • Directly contribute our nation’s defense
  • Work directly with a founder-led, mission-driven team at the intersection of tech and national defense.
  • Major visibility across the org—your work will touch every external conversation.

Compensation:

High $100Ks to low $200Ks OTE + Equity Consideration
