Our selection process incorporates comprehensive resume screening, shortlisting, conducting video-recorded interviews and providing client information, administering written assessments (if required by the client), arranging client interviews, and facilitating job offers and placements.


The Client

The client is a fast-growing white-label SEO company that helps agencies and in-house teams deliver results at scale. They blend strategy, execution, and fulfillment with complete transparency and unbeatable turnaround times. Their clients do not just outsource SEO; they trust them as an extension of their business.


Now, they are ready to scale their US revenue engine, and they are looking for a high-performing sales professional to drive new business and revenue growth.


The Role

The client is seeking a highly experienced Director of Account Management with a proven background in SEO and digital agency management. The ideal candidate is currently working in an SEO agency and managing 30+ active SEO or link-building agency clients, directly or through a team. This individual must have 8+ years of client servicing experience, strong hands-on SEO knowledge (on-page, technical, off-page and link-building), and an established industry network of agency owners and business leaders.


This leader will drive client retention, satisfaction, relationship management, and revenue growth across a large portfolio of SEO agency partners and businesses. They will be responsible for building, mentoring, and scaling a top-tier account management team while ensuring a flawless agency client experience and strategic SEO outcomes.


Key Responsibilities


Client Portfolio Leadership

  • Manage and oversee a team of account managers and their clientele of 150+ clients.
  • Act as the senior relationship owner for high-value agency partners and enterprise clients.
  • Conduct regular strategic review calls, performance meetings, and QBRs with clients.
  • Ensure on-time and high-quality delivery across On-Page SEO, Technical SEO, Content, and Link-Building services.
  • Address escalations with urgency and ensure high client satisfaction.


SEO Strategy and Consultation

  • Provide strategic direction for on-page SEO, technical SEO, off-page SEO, and link-building execution.
  • Guide clients on SEO best practices, algorithm updates, and growth strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (SEO, Outreach, Content, Paid Media, and Creative) to align deliverables with client goals.
  • Review SEO performance reports and translate data into actionable insights.


Revenue Growth and Retention

  • Own Gross Revenue Retention (GRR) and Net Revenue Retention (NRR) targets.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities across SEO, link-building, content, PPC, and associated services.
  • Maintain forecasting accuracy for MRR, renewals, and account health.
  • Reduce churn through proactive engagement and value communication.


Networking and Business Development

  • Leverage an existing network of agency owners, founders, CMOs, marketing heads, and decision-makers to bring warm leads and referrals.
  • Represent the company at SEO events, conferences, and networking meetups.
  • Build partnerships that contribute to pipeline growth and long-term relationships.
  • Support sales teams during discovery calls and strategic pitches where relevant.


Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of account managers, client strategists, and support executives.
  • Hire, train, and scale the account management team based on business needs.
  • Establish SOPs and communication guidelines to streamline client servicing.
  • Conduct weekly internal reviews to track performance, escalations, and deliverables.
  • Instill a client-first, proactive problem-solving culture.


Process Excellence and Reporting

  • Improve reporting quality, ensuring reports are insight-driven rather than data-heavy.
  • Implement best practices for communication cadence, client onboarding, and delivery workflows.
  • Collaborate with operations and leadership teams to enhance client experience.
  • Ensure full utilization of CRM, project management tools, and SEO analytics platforms.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in client servicing, account management, or client success within an SEO/digital marketing agency.
  • Currently managing at least 30+ SEO or link-building clients.
  • Strong knowledge of:

  • Off-Page SEO and Backlink Strategy
  • Link-Building Operations
  • Demonstrated success in managing and growing mid-market or enterprise SEO accounts.
  • Proven ability to retain clients and achieve revenue growth targets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to build long-term relationships with decision-makers.
  • Strong personal network within the SEO, digital marketing, and agency ecosystem.
  • Hands-on familiarity with tools:

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a white-label SEO agency or managing agency partners.
  • Exposure to US, UK, or Australian SEO clients.
  • Experience leading distributed or remote teams.
  • Ability to support sales in pitches and strategic discussions.
  • Strong understanding of SEO industry trends and Google algorithm updates.
