The Packaging Associate will support AstenJohnson’s high-performance manufacturing environment by ensuring that finished goods are packaged safely, accurately, and efficiently. This role plays a key part in maintaining product integrity and flow across the Production and Shipping & Receiving teams. The position is offered on the 2B Night Shift Schedule:
Wednesday to Friday, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Alternating Saturdays, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Supply packaging materials (including spools) to production lines as needed
Accurately weigh, label, and box finished goods
Transport packaged goods to warehouse storage locations using a forklift
Conduct visual inspections to ensure quality and labeling standards
Set up and fill racks for doff changes; perform spool taping as required
Follow all established boxing protocols and company procedures
Maintain a clean and organized work environment aligned with 5S standards
Remove waste and replenish packaging supplies
Support inventory cycle counts and audits
Collaborate closely with team members in Production and Shipping & Receiving
Consistently adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE
Perform other duties as assigned
Skills & Experience:
Ability to read and follow written/verbal instructions
Strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset
Team-oriented with good planning and organizational skills
Comfortable working with numbers and sequence-driven tasks
Forklift experience required (minimum of 3 years preferred)
Prior manufacturing experience is a plus
Familiarity with Lean Sigma principles is desirable
Education & Certifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
Forklift certification required
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending and standing for extended periods
Exposure to industrial work environments, including warm temperatures and noise
