Construction Superintendent

Charleston, SC

Salary $60-80K + Bonus (Salary based on years of experience)


The Superintendent is responsible for the successful completion of assigned construction projects, overseeing daily job site operations while maintaining safety, quality, scheduling, and communication with project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
  • 1–2 years of construction management or superintendent experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling, and quality control.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Hands-on team player with the ability to work effectively with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day construction activities and ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and project documents.
  • Manage subcontractors and vendors, ensuring work is completed according to contract requirements and quality standards.
  • Hold trade partners accountable for performance, scheduling, workmanship, and productivity.
  • Proactively identify, solve, and prevent project issues while maintaining a sense of urgency.
  • Maintain and adjust project schedules to effectively manage timelines and project milestones.
  • Coordinate with project management, architects, engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and improve project execution.
  • Monitor job site safety, quality control, and overall project progress.
  • Conduct inspections throughout all phases of construction to ensure work meets plans, specifications, and company standards.
  • Manage materials, deliveries, purchase orders, invoices, and job site resources.
  • Maintain organized and safe job sites with a focus on efficiency and professionalism.
  • Assist with project closeout, including inspections, punch lists, and final completion activities.
  • Communicate professionally with clients and provide updates to maintain confidence throughout the construction process.
  • Review and manage customer changes, ensuring proper pricing, documentation, and execution.
  • Participate in company meetings, training sessions, and industry-related education as needed.
