Role: Chief of Staff to the CEO

Location: New York, NY (In-Office — Tribeca, 5 days/week)

Our client is an early-stage fintech company building a modern retirement platform designed to expand access to wealth creation. The platform reimagines traditional retirement accounts by enabling broader investment flexibility across public and private markets, while introducing a novel financing layer that allows individuals to invest more capital earlier in their careers.

The company operates at the intersection of financial infrastructure, consumer investing, and regulatory innovation. It is tackling a long-standing structural gap in retirement systems by combining investment access with embedded leverage in a tax-advantaged framework. The product has gained early traction and is positioned within a multi-trillion-dollar market undergoing limited innovation over the past several decades.

Backed by a top-tier group of investors across venture capital and financial services, the company has raised significant early funding and is entering its next phase of growth. The team is composed of experienced operators from leading technology and financial institutions and is scaling rapidly across both technical and business functions.

Position Overview:

This role sits directly alongside the CEO as a true operational partner, focused on ensuring that high-value opportunities are executed with precision and speed. The CEO is highly active across partnerships, fundraising, regulatory engagement, and company leadership, and this role exists to translate that activity into structured execution.

The Chief of Staff will serve as the connective layer between leadership, external stakeholders, and internal teams. This is a highly execution-oriented role with full visibility into strategic conversations, but with a primary mandate of driving follow-through, coordination, and operational rigor.

Over time, this position has the potential to expand in scope into a broader leadership role for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend and support all major CEO meetings, capturing detailed notes and driving follow-through on action items
  • Manage CEO communications including inbox triage, drafting responses, and prioritization
  • Own calendar and scheduling logistics while building structured daily and weekly operating cadence
  • Ensure consistent execution across strategic initiatives, partnerships, and internal priorities
  • Coordinate fundraising processes, including investor materials, diligence requests, and timelines
  • Support regulatory and compliance-related workstreams through documentation and cross-functional follow-up
  • Drive execution on key partnerships and strategic accounts, ensuring opportunities progress to completion
  • Act as a liaison between the CEO and senior leadership team across business and technical functions
  • Build systems and processes to improve organizational efficiency and opportunity capture

Qualifications:

You likely fit if you:

  • Have experience in a top-tier investment banking program (e.g., Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, or equivalent), ideally in a demanding group
  • Bring strong financial services literacy and are comfortable operating in a regulated environment
  • Possess exceptional organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Are comfortable operating in a high-intensity, fast-paced environment with long hours
  • Demonstrate strong judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive information
  • Are willing to take on a wide range of responsibilities, including highly detail-oriented and operational tasks
  • Anticipate needs proactively and operate with a high degree of ownership
  • Communicate clearly and can operate effectively in high-stakes external conversations

This role is not for you if:

  • Prefer structured environments with clearly defined processes and responsibilities
  • Are primarily motivated by strategic work over execution and follow-through
  • Are uncomfortable handling administrative or detail-heavy responsibilities
  • Require significant guidance, onboarding, or ramp time
  • Prefer lower-intensity work environments or defined working hours
  • Are sensitive to direct communication styles or fast-paced decision-making

What they offer:

  • Competitive base salary starting at ~$200K+ with meaningful equity participation
  • Opportunity to join at an early stage with significant upside tied to future company growth
  • High level of exposure to senior stakeholders across investing, partnerships, and regulatory environments
  • Direct mentorship from an experienced founder operating at a high level of intensity and ambition
  • Clear trajectory for expanded responsibility over time for high-performing individuals
  • In-office, highly collaborative environment with a driven and execution-focused team
