Experienced Electrical Estimators are needed to support cost estimation efforts for electrical installations across industrial, commercial, and mission-critical projects. This role involves preparing and analyzing bids, collaborating with vendors, and supporting project management throughout the pre-construction and turnover phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze blueprints and specifications to determine material needs, wire lengths, and outlet placements in compliance with electrical codes
- Prepare and distribute bid packages to vendors and evaluate received quotes for accuracy
- Perform detailed material and labor takeoffs using Trimble Estimation software
- Review project scope and estimates with management, draft bid letters, and coordinate with clients throughout the bid process
- Partner with project managers to facilitate a smooth handoff and assist with submittals and change orders as needed
- Identify cost-saving strategies and provide recommendations to improve project profitability
- Maintain and update internal cost databases to reflect current labor and material pricing
- Assess labor and material costs to determine in-house versus subcontractor fabrication options
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial estimating and project management
- Strong understanding of electrical trade practices and the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), Bluebeam, and Accubid
- Demonstrated experience with Trimble Estimation software
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong customer service orientation
