Accounting Supervisor / Accounting Manager – Real Estate

Schedule: 4 days/week onsite (parking provided)

Position Overview

The Accounting Supervisor / Manager will help oversee day-to-day accounting operations for a portfolio of properties, with a primary focus on reviewing reconciliations and financial statements. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-volume environment, enjoys providing oversight, and brings strong discipline and accuracy to financial review. This person may help manage a team and will play a key role in ensuring accounting integrity and timeliness.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for assigned real estate portfolio
  • Review and approve property-level financial statements, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and general ledger activity
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership to staff accountants (with potential for direct reports)
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
  • Partner closely with property management and operations teams to support business needs
  • Assist with audits, reporting packages, and ad-hoc analysis
  • Support process improvements to drive efficiency in a high-volume accounting environment


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; real estate experience strongly preferred
  • Experience reviewing financials and reconciliations in a high-volume setting
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
  • Strong proficiency with ERP systems such as Yardi, MRI, RealPage, or similar
  • Solid understanding of GAAP
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
  • Excellent communication and collaborative mindset
