Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Furniture Services & Logistics Technician position! This is a 3+ month contract opportunity and will be hybrid in Cheektowaga, NY. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services.


What You'll Be Doing:

  • Assess the condition of furniture and unused goods, refurbish salvageable items, and recommend disposition strategies such as resale, redeployment, or disposal.
  • Coordinate logistics for moving, repairing, and relocating furniture; manage inventory levels and maintain records.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align on movement and management of corporate furniture.
  • Evaluate and repair furniture, estimate cost of repairs, and determine resale value.
  • Set up displays and provide point-of-sale information for internal and external buyers.
  • Conduct retail sales of refurbished goods, including documentation, arranging deliveries, and processing special orders.
  • Interact with clients to understand furniture needs and provide informed recommendations.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, appraisal companies, liquidators, and wholesale buyers.
  • Travel as needed to support corporate-wide furniture disposition projects.


What You'll Need to Have:

  • Physical labor experience, must be comfortable lifting and moving heavy items.
  • Customer service: ability to interact with employees and external buyers.
  • Organized, able maintain detailed inventory and sales records.
  • Associate degree and 3+ years’ relevant experience, or 5+ years combined education and experience.
  • Knowledge of furniture repair methods, materials, and tools.
  • Mechanically inclined with attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Sales acumen with experience negotiating and closing deals.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a 16–26-foot truck or van.
  • Forklift certification (within 30 days of hire).
  • Able to travel up to 30% of the time.


Preferred Skills:

  • Technical education or certification in woodworking or millwork.
  • Formal training in use of hand and power tools.
  • Experience with design, drawing, joinery, or carpentry.
  • Sales success and experience managing projects independently.


Pay Range: $25-$27/hr
