Director (Designate) – M&E Consultancy

We are seeking a senior Associate / Associate Director–level Mechanical or Electrical Engineer ready to step into a Director (Designate) position within our growing consultancy.
This is not a corporate title role. It is a hands-on leadership position with a clear pathway to Regional Director.
You must be capable of leading projects, managing people and owning commercial performance, while still being technically sharp enough to design when required.
The Opportunity
You will work directly with the Regional Director, taking increasing responsibility for:
- Leading multi-disciplinary M&E design projects
- Managing project delivery, fees and margins
- Acting as lead consultant in client meetings
- Supporting and developing engineering teams
- Contributing to business growth and pipeline development
This is a structured succession role with genuine progression potential.
What We’re Looking For
You will likely be:
- A strong Associate or Associate Director in an M&E consultancy or a M+E contractor
- 10+ years into your career
- Experienced in leading projects from concept to completion
- Commercially aware and confident managing fees
- Comfortable in front of clients
Crucially, you must still be technically competent and confident:
- Able to lead and review detailed design
- Capable of stepping into modelling, calculations or coordination work when required
- Comfortable owning technical decisions
We are not seeking a pure manager. We are looking for a leader who understands delivery from the inside out.
