Cats Protection is the UK’s leading cat welfare charity, powered by a nationwide network of volunteers supporting cats and the people who care for them. With more than 180 volunteer-led branches, 30 adoption centres and 70 retail shops, the charity helps around 150,000 cats every year and reaches millions more through expert advice, advocacy and education.

As we approach our 100th anniversary, Cats Protection is delivering an ambitious 10-year strategy, building on a strong track record of growth, innovation and impact. Financially sustainable and increasingly influential, we are now seeking an exceptional Marketing & Income Generation Director to help shape the charity’s next chapter.

As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will lead a bold, integrated strategy to drive sustainable income growth, deepen customer insight and engagement, and strengthen the Cats Protection brand. With accountability for fundraising, brand and marketing, digital marketing, retail operations and customer experience, you will ensure these functions work together to maximise reach, loyalty and long-term value.

You will champion a customer-led, insight-driven approach across the organisation, unlocking new commercial opportunities and growing existing income streams. You will work closely with colleagues to develop a coherent, consistent and impactful voice of Cats Protection, using the brand to reach the targeted audiences to support the charity’s mission. An inclusive and collaborative leader, you will role-model a culture of shared accountability and collective success, because We Work as One.

You will bring a strong track record of driving growth in a commercially oriented charity or not-for-profit organisation of similar scale and profile, with significant experience across brand, marketing and income generation, including mass and high-value fundraising, retail or trading activity.
