The short answer? No.

Most people nowadays understand what GPT is thanks to the rise of OpenAI’s ChatGPT. GPT is a specific type of a category of artificial intelligence that’s known as a Large Language Model (LLM). This type of product can be used to help generate and produce written content based off of user inputs. The result is an output that comes at a much faster rate than if a human were to do it alone.

We named our LLM “GPT” because most people are familiar with that terminology, so it instantly tells you what the product does — however, Loxo Outreach™ GPT is powered by our own custom-built LLM and is in no way affiliated with OpenAI or ChatGPT.

For a number of reasons, it quickly became clear that we would be better off building our own LLM than integrating with ChatGPT.

The biggest reason? Data privacy and accuracy.

Any data inputted into a platform that is integrated with OpenAI’s ChatGPT is then accessible by OpenAI.

Given the nature of the kind of data that our customers keep in their Loxo database, we did not feel comfortable with the risks that allowing that data to flow over to OpenAI could present.

We also wanted a way to ensure accuracy — and any time you outsource a step of your process, you give up a bit of control over the outputs. We simply weren’t okay with that, and decided it would be better to invest our time in developing a first-of-its-kind LLM designed specifically for recruiters.
