Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in Hesston, Kansas. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will be skilled Tool and Die Maker to join our team in Hesston, Kansas. As a Tool and Die Maker, you will be responsible for crafting dies and metal tools used in our manufacturing process. This role requires a deep understanding of metalworking, engineering, and design. You will work with blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings to create precision tools and dies that meet the required specifications. This is a full-time position that is indefinite in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, and additional opportunities within our organization. 


Duties:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings to create accurate tools and dies.
  • Visualize and compute metal shapes and tolerances, design jigs and templates as work aids for fabrication.
  • Set up and operate machine tools (drills, lathes, grinders, milling machines) to cut and shape blocks to specified dimensions.
  • Fill, grind, and shim metals to ensure a smooth finish and proper function.
  • Assemble and fit die and tool parts, ensuring all components work seamlessly together.
  • Inspect finished tools and dies for defects, smoothness, and contour deformities. Conduct test runs to ensure quality and performance.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years working as a Tool and Die Maker.
  • In-depth knowledge of machine tools and metalworking techniques, including drills, milling machines, grinders, and lathes.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and design schematics.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and operate large machinery.
  • Experience in quality control analysis and ensuring products meet strict standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on precision and accuracy.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with CAD software or design tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard safety procedures and guidelines.
