We are currently seeking an experienced Financial Services Representative/Loan Officer for a credit union located in Long Beach, CA!

 

Type: Full-time, temp-to-hire

 

Pay: $27-30/hr

 

Schedule: Monday – Friday: 8:30am – 5:30pm

 

Responsibilities:

  • Open and maintain membership and trust accounts; offer relevant products and services that add value and convenience.
  • Interview, process, and disburse consumer and real estate loan requests, including 1st and 2nd mortgages.
  • Review credit reports to verify identity, determine collateral needs, assess debt-to-income ratios, and identify cross-sell opportunities.
  • Verify debts not listed on applications and calculate estimated monthly payments.
  • Promote and cross-sell loan protection products such as MBI, GAP, Depreciation Protection, and Debt Protection.
  • Collect and verify insurance documents (homeowner’s, flood, and auto), ensuring compliance with credit union requirements.
  • Explain loan denials and discuss alternative solutions with members.
  • Open IRAs and Share Certificates; process related reports and RMDs accurately and on time.
  • Ensure timely, accurate processing of loan and DMV files, including proper title documentation within 90 days of funding.
  • Conduct outreach to members to generate business and increase loan pipeline.
  • Support business development activities, including New Employee Orientation and site visits.

 

Requirements:

  • 2 years of previous credit union or banking experience.
  • NMLS registration a plus.
  • Active Notary Public commission required.
  • Previous experience with opening new accounts including trusts, IRAs, and share certificates.
  • Previous experience in loan origination, processing, and funding for consumer loans and HELOCs.
  • Experience with DMV/title paperwork.
  • Working knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and operational procedures.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Goal-oriented with a proven ability to meet or exceed cross-sell targets.
