Financial Controller

Metrics recruitment is seeking a Financial Controller on behalf of a crypto proprietary trading firm. With a data-driven mindset and a global footprint, our client designs and deploys scalable infrastructure to support sophisticated trading strategies across leading centralized exchanges. Their lean, high-performing team blends deep crypto-native knowledge with institutional-grade finance expertise. As they scale, they're seeking a full-time Financial Controller to bring rigor, insight, and operational excellence to their growing finance function.

As Financial Controller, you will be the strategic and operational leader of our accounting and financial control processes. This role is both hands-on and high-impact—responsible for building and managing the day-to-day accounting infrastructure while driving compliance, transparency, and efficiency across all financial workflows.

What You’ll Do:

• Accounting & Reporting
• Lead the full-cycle accounting process including month-end close, journal entries, and general ledger management 
• Prepare internal financial statements and executive-ready management reporting packages
• Partner with external tax and audit providers to ensure compliance, tax optimization, and audit readiness
• AR/AP & Treasury Operations
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable workflows, identifying opportunities for process efficiency 
• Manage vendor onboarding, invoicing, and invoicing accuracy
• Administer wire transfers and oversee fiat and crypto treasury operations across multiple entities 
• Payroll Administration
• Manage global payroll operations for employees and contractors, liaising with third parties as needed
• Drive process improvements to improve accuracy, compliance, and reporting efficiency
• Compliance & Controls
• Maintain internal accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls 
• Ensure robust documentation and audit trails across fiat and crypto transactions
• Strategic Finance 
• Collaborate with CFO to deliver actionable financial insights to leadership and key stakeholders
• Support operating model development, forecasting, and decision-making through in-depth financial analysis

Who You Are: 

• 6–10+ years in accounting or controllership roles, ideally within crypto, trading, or fintech environments 
• Independent critical thinker and entrepreneurial; you’re always looking for creative solutions 
• Excellent communicator with the ability to tailor messaging across internal teams and external partners
• Adept in both traditional finance operations (e.g., AP/AR, wires, payroll) and digital asset workflows (e.g., wallets, blockchain transactions, crypto custody)
• Proficient in Excel, QBO and other finance/accounting systems, with the analytical background to dive into data 
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree 
• Holds an active CPA license 

Location: Remote

Compensation: 

Salary Range: $150,000 - $190,000 

Variable cash bonus opportunities 

Final salary will be determined by the candidate’s experience, knowledge, and skills. Salary reflected does not include variable pay or other types of compensation (e.g. equity), where applicable
