Ernie's On the Creek is a riverfront open-concept dining experience nestled on the Paint Creek River in Downtown Rochester, MI. Under the same ownership as Rochester Corner Bar, Ernie’s on The Creek features a Mediterranean food menu paired with craft cocktail drinks to complement the overall customer experience.

Ernie’s on The Creek is looking for a Prep Cook that will work with the Executive Chef in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen. The Prep Cook must be detail-oriented as they play a key role in supporting the kitchen operations by ensuring all food items are prepared to the highest quality and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

The Prep Cook Position

Ernie’s on The Creek is looking for a Prep Cook to assist the Executive Chef with weekly and daily food preparation, kitchen maintenance and cleanliness, setting up kitchen stations, and maintaining inventory and restocking the back of house.

For an individual to be successful as the Prep Cook, they need to have the ability to be self-motivated, have a strong interest in health and safety standards, and have strong time management skills.

  • Experience in the Food & Beverage industry is preferred
  • Ability to be self-motivated
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills that foster collaboration, and teamwork
  • Knowledge of industry health and safety standards
  • Strong customer service skills

Compensation & Structure for the Prep Cook Position

This position offers part-time and full-time opportunity. The Prep Cook reports to the Executive Chef.
