Lone Light Spirits is a craft distillery providing high quality and unique spirits that stand out amongst the crowd. The production facility is in Ferndale, MI and a new tasting room and cocktail bar will be opening in Downtown Farmington, MI in the late Spring of 2025.

The Bartender Position

Lone Light Spirit’s bartenders are responsible for providing prompt, professional, and friendly service to tasting room guests as well as being respectful, reliable, and dedicated to the team and teamwork environment we emphasize. Bartenders will need to have a strong customer service and communication skills background, knowledge of drink recipes and ingredients, and the ability to work swiftly and efficiently. They are also required to ensure that the establishment is fully stocked, set up properly, and always cleaned. Bartenders will report directly to the Tasting Room Manager/Head Bartender.

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, friendly, and embody a team player. They will also be effective at task and time management.

Preferred Experience, Skills & Abilities for the Bartender Position

• Provide exceptional hospitality to guests and coworkers
• Be prepared to begin work at the scheduled time
• Maintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards
• Help open/close the tasting room, clean counters, equipment, and other items in the establishment.
• Greet customers upon arrival to the tasting room
• Handle cash and credit card transaction
• Responsible for preparing, mixing, and serving any alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages on the menu as well as a limited number of classic cocktails while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all customers
• Maintain a strong knowledge of our spirits and ingredients and be able to effectively convey them to tasting room customers
• Collaborate closely alongside coworkers to ensure customer satisfaction and overall cleanliness of the establishment is maintained
• Establish a positive relationship with co-workers and managers through a solid work ethic, positive attitude, punctuality, and dependability
• Ability to follow recipes and help prepare intricate ingredients for cocktails
• Help clean small amounts of dishes used to prepare cocktail ingredients
• Set up and break down bar - Help stock and restock bar, clean bar and tasting room thoroughly in accordance with standard operating procedures
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the bar and all common areas and service stations, clean glassware, utensils, bar equipment, and all other equipment and work areas
• Ensure the bar has an adequate stock of liquor, glasses, straws, mixology tools, and drink garnishes
• Perform close out duties including cleaning, organization, and restocking
• Additional job duties assigned

Requirements & Skills for the Bartender

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Energetic and enthusiastic personality essential
• Must be able to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information to guests and coworkers.
• Capable of multi-tasking and working as a team player at a fast but thorough pace
• Has attention to detail and care in the quality of the things you serve, as well as service you give to guests
• Puts emphasis on a clean work area and applies the clean as you go method
• Basic knowledge of food allergens preferred
• Able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Will be required to be available for work weekends

Qualifications for the Bartender

• 2+ years prior experience as a bartender required
• Customer service oriented and have excellent hospitality skills
• High School diploma/GED (preferred)

Compensation & Structure of the Bartender Position

This position includes a competitive wage based on experience, skills, and abilities. The position is required to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the Company and requires an in-person presence in the Farmington, MI tasting location.
