Do you thrive on cold calling?

ERP Business Development Representative

Not everyone can pick up the phone a hundred times in a morning and not flinch. Not everyone can hear "no" forty times and dial again with the same energy. But some people are wired differently — and if that's you, we want to talk.

We are a well-established ERP software and services firm with a deep, skilled team and a reputation for exceptional customer service. We are looking for a driven, self-motivated Business Development Representative to join us and own our sales pipeline. If you are passionate about building relationships, hunting for new business, and thrive in a role where your effort directly drives your income, we encourage you to apply.

WHAT THIS ROLE IS

Let's be direct: this is an outbound sales role. You will be responsible for identifying and cultivating new business opportunities for our ERP software and services. About 85% of your time will be prospecting — cold calling, emailing, writing letters, attending trade shows, and networking to find your next deal. The other 15% is working leads provided by our marketing team. There is no warm handoff queue waiting for you on day one. You build it.

What you get in return: full autonomy, a marketing team that will align strategy around your direction, a services team that takes the deal off your plate the moment you close it, and real earning potential for someone who can execute.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prospect for new opportunities independently through high-volume outbound calling, emails, and other outreach — minimum 100 calls per day when not at events or demos
  • Handle pre-qualifying sales calls to determine Budget, Authority, Need, and Timeframe (BANT)
  • Nurture and develop leads through regular phone calls, emails, and communications that deliver the value of our company and solutions
  • Build and manage a sales pipeline to close new business with both new and existing accounts
  • Quarterback the sales process — coordinate discoveries, demos, and prospect calls with internal team members
  • Present high-level overview demos and deliver compelling PowerPoint presentations to prospects
  • Independently create quotes, proposals, and preliminary budgets for prospects
  • Create sales artifacts and supporting materials to help move deals forward
  • Become an expert on our pricing, promotions, and licensing
  • Research and identify information that would be beneficial to prospects and customers
  • Strategize, negotiate, and close business
  • Sell the value of our team and differentiate our company from the competition
  • Assist with the development of targeted prospect lists and marketing messaging
  • Maintain all prospect information, contact notes, and activity in HubSpot in real time
  • Submit and track orders with software vendors and ISV/third-party products
  • Participate in trade shows and industry events across the US

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5-10 years of proven ERP software and services sales experience with a verifiable track record
  • Experience selling into manufacturing and job cost environments — you must be able to go deep in those conversations
  • Ability to interact successfully with C-level executives
  • Clear understanding of converting a lead to an opportunity through to close
  • Demonstrated ability to build a pipeline from scratch with minimal supervision
  • Strong prospect qualification skills — ability to identify and articulate the business pain that drives a buying decision
  • Experience with CRM systems required; HubSpot proficiency strongly preferred
  • Comfortable working in Microsoft Teams as a primary communication platform
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills — you can write a compelling letter and hold a boardroom conversation
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
  • Enthusiasm, self-motivation, and a strong desire to succeed
  • Minimum BA or BS degree required
  • Some travel required
  • Familiarity with the defense industry is a plus

If you've read this far and your first instinct was to pick up the phone — you might be exactly who we're looking for.
