Summary:
Essentra is hiring a Warehouse Manager who will have the overall responsibility and accountability for all distribution operations within the Warehouse facility, while maintaining a safe & secure work environment for all employees. Primary focus is on the maintaining extremely high levels of service and quality in all tasks performed by self & team and ensuring that all activities undertaken ultimately deliver hassle-free service for our customers, be they internal or external. This will be an onsite role at our Louisville, KY location.
Typical Accountabilities:
• Direct and oversee all aspects of the Warehouse Supply Chain Process in order to ensure product availability within budgeted costs, agreed upon customer service levels and inventory targets.
• Effectively utilize available resources to ensure that the daily requirements within the warehouse are consistently and accurately completed.
• Ensure stock accuracy through management of the cycle counting process and best working practices.
• Monitor procedures and processes for the receipt, storage, packing, picking and dispatch of products and maintain written procedures for all processes in line with Company and regulatory standards.
• Ensure that customer orders are shipped on time in full (OTIF).
• Ensure SOPs are followed and appropriate standards of professional behavior are maintained.
• Ensure all equipment (including recycling equipment) is maintained and fit for purpose with all appropriate documentation kept up-to-date.
• Interface and communicate effectively with work colleagues and transport partners.
• Collaborate with the Production Management Team to ensure a professional, smooth and efficient service is provided to our customers.
• General facilities management activities, including liaison with other functions to ensure warehouse area maintenance and ensuring all fixtures are maintained to a legally compliant standard.
• Ensure that employees are properly trained and held accountable for performance.
• Work with Supervisors, as part of the wider Management team, to create & maintain an effective, safe, and enjoyable work environment for all employees.
• Commit to a safe work environment and ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy; e.g. ensure all accidents are reported as per the Company’s procedures;
• Ensure all equipment and materials are utilized properly in accordance with Health and Safety requirements. Maintain a safe, accident-free work environment.
• Ensure investigations and root cause analyses are undertaken and corrective plans are put in place for complaints, quality and health and safety.
• Manage and lead the warehouse team to ensure we are meeting established OTIF (On time in full) Goals
• Maintain our “hassle-free” customer service standard.
• Ensure stock accuracy through management of the cycle counting process and best working practices.
• Support, coach and develop the Warehouse Team in all aspects of their roles to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
• Create and maintain a collaborative work environment where employees are engaged.
• Monitor employee morale and issues impacting the workforce.
• Communicate company vision, values, and site/department goals.
• Maintain fiscal responsibility for warehouse expenditures.
• Perform additional job duties as needed and required.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years of managing a high-volume distribution center/warehouse.
• College degree is a plus but not required.
• Experience working in a multi-SKU, high volume, fast-paced environment and experience with cycle counting and inventory management.
• Knowledge of proper safety procedures, equipment maintenance, and warehouse best practices.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team.
• Experience holding staff members accountable to meet daily goals related to safety, quality, and productivity.
• Computer literacy in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint to at least an intermediate level.
• Ability to identify, analyze, and problem solve.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Intermediate math skills.
• Experience with a warehouse management software system.
• Knowledge of industrial power equipment is a strong plus.
