Create Life Celebrations That Truly Matter

We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and detail-oriented Illinois-licensed Funeral Director to join our team in Northeastern Illinois. This position offers the opportunity to move beyond traditional services by helping families celebrate the full story of their loved one's life—not just its end.

As a key team member, you will design and lead personalized Life Celebrations that transform memorial services into deeply meaningful experiences, incorporating photographs, personal items, and storytelling to honor each individual's journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with families to learn about their loved one’s life, guiding them through service options that reflect their values and legacy.
  • Create and lead one-of-a-kind Life Celebrations focused on personalization, healing, and remembrance.
  • Offer emotional support while maintaining professionalism and empathy throughout the planning process.
  • Ensure every detail of the service meets the highest standards of care, creativity, and respect.
  • Support other team members to deliver seamless, dignified experiences for families.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, including transfers from the place of death (must be able to lift 75+ lbs).
  • Assist in the prep room as needed, with a basic proficiency in embalming and body preparation (not a primary responsibility).

Qualifications

  • Valid Illinois Funeral Director & Embalmer License (or eligibility for reciprocal licensing).
  • Deep empathy and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • A creative mindset with a passion for storytelling and personalization.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to teamwork, growth, and providing exceptional care.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary
  • Full benefits including:
  • Health and dental insurance
  • 401(k) with employer contributions
  • Paid time off (PTO)
  • Relocation assistance if needed
