The Engineering Environment

You will join a small, highly capable engineering group responsible for designing and scaling the core systems behind a modern financial platform. The work involves complex regulatory logic, large volumes of transactional data, and infrastructure that must be reliable, extensible, and built to evolve.

Engineers are given meaningful ownership, a high level of autonomy, and the expectation to think deeply about system design, performance, and long-term maintainability. The technical environment includes Python-based services, cloud-native infrastructure, containerized workloads, and modern deployment practices running on Google Cloud.

What You Will Do

• Design, build, and maintain backend services that support complex, regulation-driven business workflows
• Develop scalable, fault-tolerant systems capable of handling large financial datasets and high transaction volumes
• Translate evolving regulatory requirements into clean, maintainable backend architecture
• Work closely with product and design partners to shape technical solutions that support customer-facing experiences
• Take ownership of core systems and contribute to architectural decisions that impact the platform long term
• Learn quickly in a fast-moving environment and apply new tools or concepts where they create real value

What the Client Is Looking For

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong emphasis on backend development
• Proven experience building and scaling production systems, ideally in data-heavy or regulated domains
• Strong fundamentals in system design, APIs, and backend architecture
• Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and design teams
• Comfortable working in a startup-style environment that values speed, ownership, and accountability
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred
