Epic Application Analyst – Optime & Anesthesia
Contract | Primarily Remote with Occasional Onsite Travel
About the Opportunity
We are supporting a healthcare organization in the search for an experienced Epic Application Analyst with deep expertise in Optime and Anesthesia. This contract role offers the chance to work closely with surgical and anesthesia teams to enhance perioperative systems that directly impact patient care, clinical efficiency, and compliance.
This is a highly visible role supporting critical workflows within surgical services, with flexibility to work remotely and periodic onsite involvement during key milestones such as implementations or go-lives.
What You Will Be Responsible For
Epic Optime & Anesthesia Configuration and Support
- Build, maintain, and enhance Epic Optime and Anesthesia functionality
- Provide ongoing application support across perioperative and anesthesia workflows
- Contribute to system upgrades, new deployments, and optimization initiatives
Clinical and Operational Partnership
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perioperative leaders, and operational teams
- Convert clinical and business needs into effective Epic solutions
- Support workflow design, validation, and continuous refinement
Scheduling, Documentation, and Billing Enablement
- Support surgical scheduling, case workflows, and intraoperative documentation
- Enable accurate anesthesia documentation and charge capture
- Ensure workflows meet clinical, operational, and revenue integrity standards
Testing and Go-Live Support
- Participate in unit, integrated, and end-user testing efforts
- Assist with go-live planning and provide stabilization support post-launch
- Help triage and resolve issues during critical rollout periods
Integration and Data Accuracy
- Partner with interface and technical teams to support integrations across Epic and external systems
- Ensure data consistency and workflow alignment across connected applications
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing
- Create and maintain build documentation, workflow designs, and specifications
- Support knowledge transfer to clinical, operational, and support teams
Compliance and Best Practice Alignment
- Ensure configurations meet regulatory, privacy, and security standards
- Adhere to Epic and organizational best practices for Optime and Anesthesia
Ongoing Optimization
- Identify opportunities to improve perioperative efficiency and patient safety
- Support continuous system and workflow enhancements
What the Client Is Looking For
- 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting Epic Optime and Anesthesia
- Strong understanding of perioperative and anesthesia clinical workflows
- Background supporting Epic implementations, upgrades, or optimization efforts
- Epic Optime and Anesthesia certification required
- Ability to work independently in a remote contract environment
- Willingness to travel onsite occasionally for key project milestones
- Clear communicator with strong problem-solving and documentation skills
- Experience in a cancer center environment is a plus, but not required
