District Partners has partnered with a publicly traded, global consumer-focused organization that is expanding its accounting team in New York City and is seeking two Senior Accountants to join a high-performing finance organization. These roles are ideal for individuals looking to transition out of public accounting and into a collaborative, fast-paced environment where they can gain exposure to complex accounting topics, reporting, and operational finance.


The team is currently building out its accounting function under new leadership and is seeking individuals who are eager to contribute, learn quickly, and play a visible role within a growing finance organization. These positions provide an opportunity to work closely with leadership while gaining exposure to technical accounting, systems initiatives, and public company reporting.


Two roles are available within the accounting team:


Senior Accountant – General Ledger

This role will focus on core accounting operations and the integrity of financial records while supporting process improvements and operational initiatives across the organization.


What You'll Do:

  •  Manage month-end close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  •  Maintain and reconcile key balance sheet and income statement accounts
  •  Assist with preparation of internal financial reporting packages
  •  Support cross-functional initiatives with FP&A, operations, and other business units
  •  Assist with external audit requests and documentation
  •  Participate in accounting process improvements and systems-related initiatives


Senior Accountant – SEC Reporting

This role will support the company’s public company reporting requirements and work closely with senior leadership on financial disclosures and technical accounting matters.


What You'll Do:

  •  Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings including Forms 10-Q and 10-K
  •  Prepare financial statements, disclosure schedules, and supporting documentation
  •  Research technical accounting topics and assist with documentation of accounting conclusions
  •  Support external audit coordination related to financial reporting
  •  Maintain documentation supporting internal controls and reporting processes
  •  Assist with special projects related to financial reporting and analysis


What You'll Have:

  •  2+ years of experience in public accounting or a similar accounting environment
  •  Experience supporting public company clients or exposure to SEC reporting preferred for the reporting role
  •  Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting principles
  •  Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills
  •  Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  •  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  •  CPA or CPA-track candidates strongly encouraged
