Business Development Manager – Summary

The Business Development Manager drives revenue growth and market expansion for both SaaS solutions and service offerings. This role requires a proven sales leader with strong strategic planning abilities and experience managing high‑visibility initiatives. The successful candidate will shape go‑to‑market strategies, engage directly with customers, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams. Initiative, discipline, and an entrepreneurial mindset are key to thriving in this position.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue goals and increase market share
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within the SaaS sector
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders
  • Lead the creation and implementation of sales strategies in alignment with marketing
  • Partner with the Product Manager to define customer acquisition and growth initiatives
  • Work closely with marketing and product teams to refine offerings and align cross‑departmental strategies
  • Conduct market research, assess competitive activity, and incorporate findings into business planning
  • Deliver persuasive presentations, proposals, and demos to prospective clients
  • Negotiate and close high‑value deals
  • Track sales performance metrics and provide actionable market feedback
  • Lead the development and management of the CRM system alongside relevant stakeholders



Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative
  • CRM expertise required
  • 5+ years’ experience in business development or sales, ideally within heavy industrial markets
  • Preferred: 5+ years’ experience in the gas turbine industry
  • Preferred: Understanding of power distribution systems and/or heavy industrial equipment
  • Preferred: Knowledge of automation systems
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and enthusiasm for delivering high‑quality software products
  • Excellent communication skills across technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Proven success meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new technologies or processes
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, in‑office startup environment
  • Willingness to travel for client engagements and sales opportunities


Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Computer, or Control Systems Engineering (preferred)


OTE: $200-$250K (exceptional performance can reach total earnings of up to $350K)
