Job Description
A Senior Mechanical Engineer with a ten to fifteen years of experience. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a dynamic and progressive firm. The successful individual will work closely with our business development team and other discipline leads in developing technical proposals and will take a proactive role in marketing/business development. This role provides the opportunity to help build and mentor a dedicated team of engineering professionals within a collaborative multidiscipline office. This candidate will be working directly with clients providing consulting services.
The ideal candidate will have experience in providing engineering for a variety of projects involving HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and coordinating multifaceted projects. We are seeking innovative, results-oriented individuals who value high standards of performance and collaborative teamwork.
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
- Perform the following functions:
- Design of HVAC and plumbing systems
- Manage and design multiple concurrent projects
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings
- Lead design team efforts
- Manage project team for budget and schedule control
- Develop fee and qualification-based proposals
- Familiarity with relevant codes: mechanical, energy, plumbing and ensure design conforms with all applicable codes and client standards
- Reading and preparing project drawings including ductwork plans, piping plans, sections, isometric piping drawings, and bills of materials.
- Perform HVAC calculations and analysis using standard industry programs
- Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment .
- Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities .
- Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint software preferred. Must understand database concepts. Working knowledge of marketing databases and proposal resources files.
- Conduct marketing/business development activities
- Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale.
- Ability to travel
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S) in Mechanical engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering (required)
- 10 to 15 years of experience
- Experience with Load Calculation Software
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Project Management experience and/or certifications
- Desire to lead inter-disciplinary projects and project teams
- Experience with energy modeling is a plus
- Local AHJ experience and relationships is a plus
- Active local industry involvement is a plus
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary will be determined based on qualifications and relevant experience.
- Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate
