JOB TITLE: Project Estimator
LOCATION: Alpharetta, Georgia

Summary of Position
Our company is seeking a Project Estimator to review and analyze architectural plans for proposed siding projects, perform plan take-offs and create job estimates for the installation of siding and other exterior components. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and a quick learner to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. The candidate must have excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational, time management, problem-solving and computer skills.
Position Responsibilities
- Gain thorough understanding of business through shadowing Project Manager and Project Superintendents, as well as participating in training which will encompass but not be limited to software applications, material components and application, safety, etc.
- Review, analyze and perform take-offs of plans provided by potential customers for the installation of siding and other exterior components in multi-family housing
- Attend pre-bid meetings (where appropriate) or gather additional information required to provide estimate for job.
- Gather and compile take-off data using estimating software tool.
- Request and enter material and labor pricing to finalize estimates.
- Schedule and conduct review meetings with senior-level Project Managers and Estimators to present proposed estimate and gather feedback.
- Update estimate based on feedback and submit estimate for final approval.
- Upon approval of estimate, create official proposal to be submitted to customer.
- Support Project Managers in responding to customer inquiries on proposal.
- When project is awarded, support Project Managers in reviewing the scope of the contract, planning and scheduling work, ordering materials, attending pre-construction meetings, etc.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with internal peers and executives, as well as customer representatives.
- Complete tasks according to assigned schedule while delivering high-quality work products.
Qualifications
- 4-year college degree, preferably with a major in Building Construction or related field.
- Working knowledge and competence with the Microsoft Office suite of products (includes Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Prior work experience in the construction industry and working knowledge of estimating construction, especially multi-family housing jobs is preferred (reviewing, understanding, and performing take-offs on architectural plans; pricing/securing materials and building final job estimates).
- Experience with or knowledge of ProContractor or other digital take-off or estimating software application is a plus.
- Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented and willing to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Must work well independently or in a team environment.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), time management, organizational and problem-solving skills required.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and make decisions within established guidelines and policies.
Requirements for Consideration
- Candidate must be 18 years or older.
- Candidate must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process.
- Candidate must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.
- Candidate must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
- Candidate must be willing to travel (very limited) by car or plane and have a valid Driver’s License.
