Manufacturing Engineer – Foundry + ERP/Costing (Hybrid Technical Role)


Location: Cleveland, OH


We are seeking a hands-on Foundry Engineer who thrives both on the production floor and in the data. This is a unique split-role opportunity combining process engineering (50%) with ERP standards, costing, and master data management (50%)—ideal for someone who enjoys improving operations and driving accuracy in manufacturing systems.


What You’ll Do:


Process Engineering / Manufacturing (50%)

  • Support aluminum foundry operations: melting, pouring, molding, finishing, heat treat
  • Drive improvements in scrap, yield, throughput, and downtime
  • Lead root cause analysis on defects, process issues, and customer concerns
  • Develop standard work, SOPs, and process documentation
  • Support new product launches, tooling trials, and process validation
  • Partner cross-functionally with production, quality, and maintenance


ERP, Standards & Costing (50%)

  • Own routings, BOMs, labor standards, and machine rates
  • Conduct time studies to ensure accurate labor and cost standards
  • Improve product costing accuracy (yields, scrap factors, cycle times)
  • Align shop floor reality with ERP data integrity
  • Support quoting with accurate process and cost inputs
  • Build KPI reporting for productivity, cost, and performance


What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Metallurgical, Materials, Mechanical, Industrial, or similar)
  • 3–5+ years in manufacturing engineering (foundry/casting/metals strongly preferred)
  • Experience with ERP systems, costing, and production data
  • Strong problem-solving + analytical skills
  • Comfortable working on the floor and in the data
  • Excel proficiency and experience driving continuous improvement


Nice to Have:

  • Aluminum or magnesium casting experience
  • Lean / Six Sigma tools, PFMEA, SPC, control plans
  • ERP systems like Epicor, Plex, IQMS, SAP
