Director of Manufacturing Operations

About the Opportunity:
An established and growing precision manufacturer is seeking an experienced Director of Manufacturing to lead all aspects of production operations. This individual will oversee manufacturing, scheduling, and warehouse functions, driving improvements in quality, safety, delivery, and profitability within a lean, high-performance environment.This is a hands-on leadership role suited for a strategic thinker who enjoys coaching teams, solving problems, and implementing process improvements that deliver measurable results.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across all manufacturing and support functions to achieve performance, quality, and cost objectives.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance flow.
- Implement and maintain systems to monitor productivity, on-time delivery, and operational efficiency.
- Champion safety and environmental programs, ensuring compliance and a culture of accountability.
- Develop, mentor, and empower production leaders, promoting collaboration and team success.
- Partner cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and supply chain to meet customer and business goals.
- Report on key metrics and drive initiatives that improve operational visibility and performance.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).

10+ years of manufacturing management experience, ideally in a precision or engineered components environment.
- Proven success leading teams in a fast-paced, multi-shift manufacturing operation.
- Strong working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and process improvement tools.
- Experience with machining, welding, assembly, or related manufacturing processes preferred.
- Skilled in ERP/MRP systems and data-driven decision making.
- High energy, hands-on leadership style with excellent communication and coaching abilities.
