Position: Warehouse Worker / Forklift Operator

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse distribution and material handling, with experience operating various types of heavy equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks. This role plays a key part in ensuring the efficient loading, unloading, and movement of goods within the facility.

Reports to: Warehouse Manager

Employment Type: Temporary Full-Time (with the potential to transition to Permanent Full-Time). The position is for an existing vacancy.

Pay: CA$18.30 - CA$22.27 per hour

Responsibilities:


  • Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently to move materials throughout the warehouse.
  • Load and unload shipments, ensuring accurate placement of items in designated areas.
  • Utilize RF scanners to track inventory levels and assist with order picking processes.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Adhere to OSHA safety regulations and company policies while operating machinery.
  • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to streamline operations and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Assist in shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring timely processing of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, promoting safety and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in warehouse operations or distribution environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, including forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues as they arise.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) for tracking inventory is a plus.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.
  • Knowledge of shipping & receiving processes is advantageous.
  • Previous experience as a warehouse supervisor or in a leadership role is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
