Vale Group has partnered with a company based in Stockton, CA, who is actively searching for an experienced Director of Quality to work onsite for an opportunity paying $165,000 – $180,000 annually, based on experience (15% bonus eligible). This role is ideal for a proven leader in aviation maintenance or advanced manufacturing with a strong command of FAA regulations, ISO standards, and continuous improvement within MRO operations.

Requirements of the Director of Quality:
● Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience; or 3+ years with a Master’s degree (an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
● Engine MRO, Airframe MRO, or MRO Accessories Repair Shop experience
● In-depth understanding of FAA Part 145, FISDO, and DCMA compliance requirements
● Thorough knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems and audit procedures
● Experience managing repair station manuals and regulatory certifications
● Proven track record conducting supplier audits and driving risk mitigation strategies
● Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing large teams of up to 40 employees
● Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
● A&P License preferred or equivalent aviation maintenance background
● Skilled in root-cause analysis, corrective action programs, and continuous improvement
● Proficiency in MS Office and production management systems
Responsibilities of the Director of Quality:
● Lead the development and implementation of site-wide quality programs and compliance procedures
● Act as the primary liaison with FAA and other regulatory agencies
● Direct internal, external, and supplier audits while ensuring ongoing certification requirements are met
● Evaluate quality data trends including warranty claims and customer feedback to drive improvements
● Partner with engineering, operations, and leadership teams to integrate quality into new products and processes
● Manage corrective/preventive actions and root-cause investigations to resolution
● Provide direct leadership and oversight to a team of up to 40 quality assurance professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence
● Monitor and refine measurement systems to ensure alignment with organizational objectives
● Support strategic initiatives, cost reduction, and compliance optimization projects
● Carry out other executive-level responsibilities and special assignments as needed
