Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled PLC Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and associated systems. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and precision measuring instruments. The PLC Technician will work closely with engineering teams to ensure optimal performance of automated processes.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required

  • Maintain Equipment and Parts:
  • Monitor equipment and machinery to identify systems that may be about to fail.
  • Repair and calibrate instrumentation
  • Trouble shoot equipment using PLC logic
  • Repair/replace electrical components as needed to restore functionality
  • Perform Process Improvement:
  • Monitor processes to identify areas of opportunity for improvement.
  • Improve processing and packaging systems throughout plant to increase efficiencies.
  • Perform special projects as required.
  • Write/modify PLC programs as needed.
  • Add new inputs/outputs as needed.
  • Fabricate enclosures for electrical equipment as required.
  • Identify needed repairs.
  • Utilize all maintenance tools, equipment and materials appropriately.
  • Ensure that repairs are cost effective.
  • Follow GMP’s when making repairs.
  • Complete parts usage sheet.
  • Complete daily shift reports.
  • Responsible for addressing potential food safety and quality issues of the product.
  • Conducts oneself in a professional manner, working safely, taking precautions in preventing product and/or equipment damages and losses, cooperating with co-workers and maintaining good housekeeping practices at all times.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

· High school diploma preferred; General Education Degree (GED) required. One to three-months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English, and interpret documents such as specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively with co-workers and supervisors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

· Ability to calculate figures and add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OR OTHER:

  • Ability to use a computer and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification.

Job Types: Full-time, direct hire

Pay: $30.50-35.80

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

  • 12 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
