Senior Marketing Designer – Paid Media & Social ( Remote)

Pay: $65 (Weekly pay + Medical Benefits)

Schedule: Full-time: M-F (Must attend meetings EST/PST as needed)

The Brand & Creative team is hiring two Senior Designers to support high-impact marketing initiatives during a critical growth period.
Both roles will work closely with the Head of Design and Performance Marketing leadership to create high-quality, platform-native creative that strengthens marketing performance and brand presence. While both roles require strong visual design expertise, each role supports a different marketing channel:
• Senior Paid Media Designer – focused on performance marketing and digital advertising creative
• Senior Organic Social Designer – focused on organic social storytelling and engagement-driven content
Role 1: Senior Paid Media Designer (Performance Marketing)
The Senior Paid Media Designer will lead the design and execution of high-impact advertising creative across paid social and digital marketing channels.
This role requires a designer who understands performance marketing, platform-native design, and data-informed creative optimization. The ideal candidate can analyze how creative performs and iterate designs to improve campaign outcomes.
This person will also collaborate with internal stakeholders and external agencies to ensure high-quality creative aligned with campaign goals.
Key Responsibilities
Paid Media Creative Execution
• Design performance-driven advertising creative for platforms such as LinkedIn and Meta
• Develop platform-native creative tailored to specific formats, placements, and audience behavior
• Create multiple design variations to support A/B testing and campaign experimentation
• Ensure creative assets are optimized for digital advertising performance
Performance Optimization
• Partner with performance marketing teams to translate campaign goals into creative strategy
• Review campaign metrics and make data-informed recommendations to improve creative performance
• Apply understanding of metrics such as CTR, conversions, and engagement to refine creative direction
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with marketing, creative, and advertising agency partners
• Review agency-produced creative and provide design feedback and direction
• Present and explain design decisions to stakeholders with confidence and clarity
Brand Stewardship
• Maintain consistency with Coursera’s brand guidelines and visual identity
• Ensure creative quality across high-volume paid campaigns
Role 2: Senior Organic Social Designer
The Senior Organic Social Designer will lead the creation of engaging, platform-native social content that strengthens presence across social channels.
This role focuses on creative storytelling, experimentation, and engagement-driven content, helping the brand stand out in highly competitive social environments.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of how different platforms behave and how design choices influence audience engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Social-First Creative Development
• Design engaging organic social content across platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube
• Create assets across formats including static posts, carousels, and social graphics
• Develop content that aligns with platform-specific audience behavior and trends
Creative Ideation
• Contribute ideas for social campaigns, brand storytelling, and content series
• Translate brand messaging into compelling visual content designed for engagement
Platform-Native Design
• Apply knowledge of platform-specific design styles and audience expectations
• Stay current on social media trends, formats, and emerging content styles
Collaboration
• Partner closely with social media, brand, and marketing teams
• Contribute to the visual evolution of company’s social presence
Core Responsibilities (Both Roles)
• Design high-quality marketing creative using Figma at an expert level
• Maintain organized and production-ready design files
• Ensure all creative aligns with brand standards and visual guidelines
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional marketing teams
• Clearly communicate design rationale and defend creative decisions with confidence
• Contribute ideas and insights to improve creative strategy and execution
Required Qualifications
• 6–12 years of professional design experience supporting digital marketing or creative campaigns
• Experience designing creative assets for global marketing campaigns
• Must have experience in Paid Media OR Organic Social Design
• Background in technology, SaaS, education, or subscription-based businesses
• Ability to walk through your creative process and explain their design decisions
• Requires hands-on creative ownership – coming up with your own creative direction
• Strong portfolio showcasing paid media campaigns and/or organic social media design
• Experience creating digital advertising assets or social media content for platforms such as LinkedIn, Meta, or similar channels
• Ability to translate marketing briefs into compelling creative assets for campaigns
• Experience collaborating with marketing, brand, and performance teams
•Experience to design high-quality marketing creative using Figma at an expert level
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and modern design tools
