Financial Systems & Audit Support Specialist – $30/hr | Hybrid (U.S.) | Contract Through June 2026

Schedule: Monday–Friday, EST hours (8/9 AM – 5/6 PM)

A fast-growing organization is seeking a Financial Systems & Audit Support Specialist to play a critical role in supporting the implementation of Vena financial planning software while assisting the accounting team through key financial statement audit activities under US GAAP.

What You’ll Do

Financial Systems & Vena Implementation Support

• Assist with the implementation and ongoing support of the Vena financial reporting system

• Perform data entry, validation, and system testing to ensure financial data integrity

• Validate general ledger data transfers between systems for accuracy and completeness

• Test balance sheet reconciliation transfers and investigate discrepancies when identified

• Evaluate workflow functionality to ensure processes operate as designed

• Draft system testing documentation and update process documentation as systems evolve

• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve financial reporting efficiency and internal controls

Financial Reporting & Audit Support

• Collaborate with accounting and financial reporting teams to support multiple external audits

• Assist in drafting financial statements and related footnotes in accordance with US GAAP

• Prepare supporting schedules, reconciliations, and audit documentation

• Build structured Excel analyses and reporting tables for audit and management review

• Produce clear documentation summarizing reconciliations, findings, and financial variances

• Apply strong analytical thinking to identify data inconsistencies and root causes

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 2+ years of accounting, financial reporting, or audit support experience

• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliations

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis)

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word for professional documentation and reporting

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Exceptional attention to detail

Preferred (Not Required)

• CPA or CPA candidate

• Experience with Vena or similar FP&A / financial reporting systems

• Prior experience supporting external audits

• Background in process documentation or workflow validation
