An established, multi-doctor veterinary practice in Maryland is seeking an experienced DVM with strong general practice and soft tissue surgery skills to step into a leadership role as Medical Director.   • Facility includes:
  • 5 exam rooms
  • Dedicated surgical suite
  • In-house laboratory
  • Digital radiology + intraoral dental radiology
  • Robust medical, surgical, and dental caseload


Position Summary: Medical Director

As Medical Director, you'll guide clinical protocols, mentor fellow veterinarians, and foster a positive team culture. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading by example in patient care and surgical standards
  • Overseeing clinical decisions and workflow improvements
  • Coaching DVMs and support staff
  • Collaborating with operational leadership

Veterinarian Role Expectations

  • Provide preventive care, diagnostics, and chronic disease management
  • Perform soft tissue surgeries (e.g., spay/neuter, mass removals, FB extractions)
  • Administer dental care (extractions with radiographic support)
  • Promote Fear Free™ handling and client-centered care

Qualifications

  • DVM or VMD from AVMA-accredited program
  • Licensed (or license-eligible) to practice in Maryland
  • 3+ years of clinical experience (small animal)
  • Strong surgical and dental proficiency
  • Prior mentoring or leadership experience preferred
  • Excellent communicator with a passion for collaboration and growth

  • Competitive base salary of $110K–$160K + production bonuses
