Mount Indie is hiring a Systems Integration Engineer to support a critical EPASS Mobility program keeping USAF training and tanker aircraft up to date.
Responsibilities
- Provide systems engineering expertise across system design, integration, manufacturing, quality, airworthiness, configuration management, and data management
- Develop, deploy, and maintain processes to ensure weapon systems are integrated, sustained, configuration managed, and operationally safe, suitable, and effective throughout their lifecycle
- Apply USAF airworthiness policies (AFPD 62-6) and MIL-HDBK-516C Airworthiness Certification Criteria to aircraft systems and subsystems
- Support System Integrity Programs, including Mechanical Systems Integrity Program (MECSIP); maintain/update Critical Safety Item (CSI) lists; and monitor airworthiness certification for mission partner aircraft
- Conduct safety analysis, risk assessments, and provide recommendations on high-priority safety issues
- Translate user requirements into system requirements for design, development, fabrication, testing, evaluation, and deployment of weapons systems and subsystems
- Support system definition, development, integration, verification, sustainment, modeling/simulation, testing, evaluation, human systems integration (HSI), crew stations engineering, interoperability, and OSS&E efforts across hardware and software systems
- Review and analyze technical proposals, OEM modifications, and program databases for design feasibility, system capability, and accuracy of failure reporting (BIT analysis)
- Provide system integration guidance for installation, operation, and maintenance of aircraft systems
- Conduct systems analyses, including design feasibility, cost/schedule/performance trade studies, producibility, maintainability, supportability, reliability, and lifecycle assessments
- Support technology maturation and risk reduction, requirements management, architecture development, and technical issue resolution using a systems approach
- Contribute to development of the Systems Engineering Plan (SEP), program baselines, interoperability requirements, and other technical strategies
- Develop and review documentation including: technical evaluations, engineering studies, acquisition strategies/plans, system specifications, SEPs, TEMPs, PESHE, security strategies, and other required program documents
- Participate in project meetings, working groups, and program reviews, providing technical expertise and recommendations
- Support system safety engineering programs, mishap risk assessments, contractor safety proposals, and resolution of safety concerns
- Provide rapid response engineering support by identifying problems, assessing impacts, and developing corrective actions
- Analyze equipment and software deficiencies; recommend and support integration/testing of corrective solutions
- Prepare documentation, presentations, training materials, and compliance evidence for audits and program requirements
Required Experience
One of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in an ABET-accredited engineering discipline, and fifteen (15) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five (5) years of which must be in the DoD
- Bachelor’s degree in an ABET-accredited engineering discipline, plus a Master’s degree in engineering (Master’s degree does not need to be ABET-accredited), and at least twelve (12) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five (5) of which must be in the DoD
Additional requirements:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams) and Adobe Acrobat
