Our client is a boutique, planning-first wealth management firm with $400 million in assets under management and a collaborative team of 15 professionals. The firm offers comprehensive financial planning and investment management services and is committed to delivering long-term value to clients. They are now expanding their offering by integrating life insurance into the planning process and are looking for a tenured expert to lead this initiative.
About the Role:
The Life Insurance Specialist will partner with advisors to bring tailored insurance strategies to existing clients, while also driving new business through education-based outreach and referral relationships. This person will be both a strategic team member and a proactive business developer—able to collaborate, educate, and generate results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct life insurance diagnostics for current clients, identifying protection and planning gaps
- Collaborate with Lead and Service Advisors to present integrated planning strategies
- Build confidence and knowledge across the advisory team through internal training and case support
- Handle end-to-end implementation including illustrations, underwriting, applications, and client follow-up
- Cultivate and manage strategic referral partnerships with centers of influence (estate attorneys, CPAs, etc.)
- Generate new client opportunities through workshops, networking, and outreach
- Serve as the internal expert on life insurance products, trends, and planning use cases
Ideal Candidate:
- 5+ years of experience in life insurance planning, ideally within or alongside an RIA or planning-focused wealth firm
- Skilled at both collaborative consultation and independent business development
- Strong knowledge of estate planning, permanent and term life solutions, and underwriting practices
- Excellent communicator and educator—comfortable leading both client conversations and internal training
- Life & Health license required
- CFP®, CLU®, or similar credential strongly preferred
Compensation: $100K+ base (depending on experience) + commission. OTE: $200k-250K+
