Product Designer (Web)

Location: Remote

Comp: $133K – $148K base

This is not a “design the website” role

This is a define how the product works on the web role.

We’re partnered with a global brand building a new digital platform from the ground up. No legacy system. No existing design language. No constraints other than what you help create.

They’re hiring a Web Product Designer to help define the structure, behavior, and system that everything else will scale from.

What makes this interesting (and different)

Most web roles are:

  • optimizing pages
  • working inside a system
  • refining what already exists

This one is:

  • defining interaction patterns from scratch
  • turning vague ideas into real product experiences
  • building the system other designers will use later

What you’ll actually do

Own how the product behaves on the web

Not just how it looks.

You’ll design flows, structure, interactions, and UI across a responsive, mobile-first experience that has to work everywhere and feel right everywhere.

Turn ambiguity into product

You’ll take rough ideas and shape them into clear, intuitive experiences.

No hand-holding. No perfect specs. Just real product thinking.

Prototype to pressure test ideas

You’ll use Figma to build interactive prototypes that help teams make decisions early, not argue later.

Prototypes here are how things get validated, not how they get presented.

Build the system, not just the screens

You’ll help create the design system from the ground up.

Typography, spacing, components, interaction patterns, all of it.

And it needs to scale cleanly as the product grows.

Work directly with engineers and product

You’ll sit close to engineering to make sure what ships actually matches the intent.

And you’ll partner with product early enough to shape what gets built, not just react to it.

Why strong designers lean into this

  • You’re not boxed into an existing system
  • You help define the rules, not just follow them
  • Your decisions actually impact product direction
  • You’re building something that needs to hold up at scale

What they’re looking for

  • 5+ years designing digital products, with strong web experience
  • Deep Figma skills (components, prototyping, systems)
  • Strong grasp of responsive design and accessibility
  • A portfolio that shows thinking, not just visuals
  • Experience building or scaling design systems
  • Experience working closely with engineers through build

Nice to have

  • Experience on zero-to-one or early-stage products
  • Understanding of front-end constraints
  • Motion or interaction design experience
  • Consumer product, ecomm, or health/wellness background

The honest version

This isn’t a role for someone who just wants tickets and clean specs.

This is for someone who wants to:

  • define how a product works
  • bring clarity to messy ideas
  • and build something that actually scales
