Harrison Gray Search is leading the recruitment for a Senior Claims Director on behalf of an expanding, U.S.-based specialty insurance and reinsurance firm with a global client base. The company is known for its deep expertise in complex and latent liability claims, and is seeking a strategic and hands-on leader to help drive continued claims excellence as they grow nationally.

This is a rare opportunity to join a nimble, entrepreneurial team, where your insight will shape outcomes on some of the industry's most intricate and high-stakes claims.

Why Consider This Role?

  • High-impact scope: Handle complex, high-exposure claims including asbestos, environmental, molestation, and other long-tail liabilities.
  • Strategic leadership: You’ll lead roundtables, advise on coverage litigation, influence reserving, and direct negotiation strategy.
  • Growth environment: Be part of a company that’s expanding rapidly, offering opportunities for upward mobility and influence across operations.
  • Flexibility: Remote-first culture with preference for candidates in the Eastern Time Zone, particularly near Philadelphia or Boston.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and resolve high-exposure and latent injury claims with precision and strategy.
  • Evaluate liability, coverage, and litigation posture across a range of complex scenarios.
  • Lead negotiation efforts, set litigation strategy, and oversee external legal counsel.
  • Establish and review reserves with a disciplined and analytical approach.
  • Participate in internal claim audits and quality assurance oversight.
  • Act as a thought partner to leadership—shaping department policies and complex resolution strategies.

Ideal Candidate:

  • 5+ years of experience handling complex claims in P&C insurance, or a JD with relevant litigation experience transitioning into insurance.
  • Deep familiarity with general liability, toxic torts, environmental, and/or sexual misconduct claims.
  • A strategic communicator skilled in navigating sensitive, multi-party negotiations.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a lean, expert-driven environment.
  • Licensed claims adjuster (or willingness to become licensed shortly after hire).
  • Based in the EST time zone preferred.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on complexity, influence, and the opportunity to build something meaningful. If you're ready to join a growing firm where your expertise will be valued and visible, apply today.
