Overview
The Senior Financial Analyst will play a critical role in driving financial reporting and analysis for our client's channel partner portfolio. This position involves analyzing business performance, identifying key drivers, and providing actionable recommendations to optimize profitability. Collaborating across sales, finance, and operations teams, the Senior Financial Analyst will deliver insights that contribute to strategic decision-making and top-line growth.
Key Responsibilities
Residual Analysis & Financial Management:
- Reconcile monthly residual payments and other primary revenue sources.
- Monitor revenue trends and identify discrepancies in residual payments.
- Conduct variance analysis to assess profitability and optimize residual revenue streams.
Merchant Pricing & Profitability Optimization:
- Develop and refine merchant pricing strategies, including Interchange Plus, Tiered, and Flat Rate models.
- Analyze transaction fees, interchange costs, and risk factors to improve pricing models.
- Collaborate with sales teams to structure competitive and profitable merchant pricing agreements.
Financial Reporting & Data Analysis:
- Provide leadership with accurate, timely, and insightful financial analysis to track business performance and enable strategic decision-making.
- Develop complex financial models for both recurring and ad hoc reporting.
- Analyze revenue and cost variances compared to budget projections.
Strategic Collaboration & Process Improvement:
- Drive process improvements to enhance the efficiency of residual reconciliation and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, contractual agreements, and internal financial policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of financial analysis experience within the payment processing industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with an in-depth understanding of Interchange, card brand fees, merchant pricing models, and residual revenue structures.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling tools; experience with BI tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with payment processing platforms (especially Fiserv).
- Proven ability to collaborate across departments and present complex financial data to stakeholders.
