Position: Senior Clinical Coding Auditor & Trainer

Location: Remote (U.S.)

Travel: Up to 10% (approx. 2 trips per year to NY)

Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary Range: USD $68,000 – $123,000 / year + 8% Performance Bonus


About the Role


We’re seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in clinical auditing, coding, and training to join a leading national healthcare organization that’s improving how care is delivered across the U.S.


This is a fully remote role (with occasional travel to the Northeast region) where you’ll play a key part in ensuring coding accuracy, compliance, and clinical integrity within inpatient programs. You’ll conduct detailed coding audits, develop training programs for clinical staff, and collaborate closely with management to improve overall quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities


  • Conduct inpatient and outpatient clinical coding audits to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Develop and deliver training sessions and educational materials for coding and clinical staff
  • Evaluate medical records for coding quality and medical necessity
  • Collaborate with clinical leadership to identify areas of improvement and recommend corrective action
  • Analyze audit data, create reports, and present findings to management
  • Maintain and update internal policies, guidelines, and auditing tools
  • Support onboarding and continuing education initiatives for coding teams


What We’re Looking For


  • Active RN license (multi-state preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience in nursing, clinical auditing, utilization management, or coding review
  • Certification preferred: CPC, CIC, or CCS
  • Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 coding, InterQual, MCG, and CMS guidelines
  • Exceptional written communication and analytical skills
  • Experience in remote and managed care settings
